Consilience: Exploring E-Textiles

As part of the Institute for Systems Biology’s annual Consilience event (which took place on May 19, 2017), Afroditi Psarra presented her talk E-textiles: hand-crafting technological artifacts. The Seattle Channel produced the video of the talk.

Afroditi Psarra, PhD,  is an assistant professor at DXARTS at the University of Washington. She is a multidisciplinary artist working with e-textiles.

    ISB researchers have constructed biological body mass index (BMI) measures that offer a more accurate representation of metabolic health and are more varied, informative and actionable than the traditional, long-used BMI equation. The work was published in the journal Nature Medicine.
