ISB in the News: Sabey in PSBJ


Dave Sabey is the president of Sabey Corp.

Thanks to Valerie Bauman at the Puget Sound Business Journal for posting the news about Dave Sabey being appointed the chairman of ISB’s board of directors.

Dr. Lee Hood, president of ISB, had this to say about Sabey:

ISB is thrilled that Dave has accepted the position as chair of our board of directors. He appreciates the contemporary challenges and opportunities for nonprofits and his operational expertise on a global scale can help guide us in the difficult financial times research organizations face. Dave is one of those rare individuals who is a superb doer.

    High school students Ashwin Mukherjee and Rohan Chanani worked with ISB Research Scientist Dr. Jacob Valenzuela on a project to build a machine learning algorithm to count algal cells from microscope images taken from a cell phone. In April, the team was recognized as champions in the DOE-sponsored AlgaePrize competition.
