Cure First is bringing together from a variety of disciplines including research, clinical, computational science, pharmaceutical science, healthcare investment, to share their work and vision about the realities of what precision medicine can bring to cancer patients. With new high throughput screening (HTS) capabilities, we can now test hundreds of genes and target those that are cancer specific for more effective, less toxic therapies. Cancer Think Tank will provide a forum for experts to consider these and other approaches to identify new possibilities and further our understanding of how to kill cancer.

Agenda: New ideas and insights into potentially disruptive science and technology will b e shared through MED Talk presentations. In small working groups, facilitators will ask for ideas and examples of what can be done to develop new approaches for treating cancer. Research themes will surface from group interactions and be shared with the larger group for further investigation. From this exchange of ideas, topics for grants will be identified and sent out after the event to Cancer Think Tank participants for review. The afternoon will close with social networking, dinner and drinks.

Results: Funding for specific initiatives emerging from the conference will be pursued in the months following. Participants interested in working with other specialists will be invited to write segments of grant applications using a structured approach for faster development and strategic submission to funding institutions such as the NIH and NCI.
