Erika Kreger joined the Institute for Systems Biology as Director of Development in January 2023. Previously, she was on the Seattle Children’s Hospital Foundation major gifts team (2015-2022), and with the University of Michigan as a regional gift officer, based first in Pasadena, Calif., and then Seattle (2012-2015). Prior to that, she was the University of Washington’s Southern California Regional Officer (2010-2012), Director for Advancement in the UW Graduate School (2006-2010), and Director of Development in the Graduate Division at UC Berkeley (2004-2006).
Before making the career change into fundraising, Erika held a tenure-track faculty position in the English Department at San Jose State University (2001-2004), and taught high school and coached track at Charles Wright Academy in Tacoma, Wash. (1992-94). She earned her PhD at UC Davis (2000), and holds an MA from the Claremont Graduate School (1992) and a BA from Smith College (1991).
