The Future of Health: Presentations from ISB’s 17th Annual International Symposium
At our 17th Annual International Symposium, focusing on the Future of Health, we welcomed speakers who are experts in diverse areas including environmental and occupational health, infectious disease transmission and forecast, drug and vaccine development, communicable disease dynamics, and beyond.
Our presenters spoke during three sessions:
- Population health, which focused on global health informatics and how big data can be used to understand the health of middle- and low-income populations; metabolic disease and the epidemiology of obesity; and the impact of personalized medicine on population health
- Early warning systems, which explored dynamic, data-driven modeling; environmental determinants of infectious disease transmission and modeling effects of climate change and environment on pathogen dynamics; and the tipping points for the emergence – and re-emergence – of infectious diseases
- and Prevention and Therapy, which tackled research on host-pathogen interactions and the genetic determinants of infectious disease, innate immunity, antimicrobial resistance and vaccine development.
Following are the recorded presentations from our two-day event.
