Help Shape Future Scientists

At the Institute for Systems Biology (ISB), postdoctoral fellows drive bold research that brings groundbreaking insights into human health.

These rising stars from top PhD programs work alongside our world-renowned faculty to find novel solutions and push the boundaries of science. Fellows make crucial contributions to ISB’s success before they move on to impactful careers in academia, biotech, and other fields exploring topics vital to the health of our planet and humanity.

Those who support ISB’s postdoctoral fellowships help talented early-career investigators pursue innovative projects that could revolutionize our understanding of aging, brain health, cancer, infectious disease, and more – shaping a healthier future for us all.

Our goal for 2025 is to raise $100,000 to fund postdoctoral fellowships at ISB. If we raise this amount by the end of calendar year 2025, our generous Foundation Board Chair Douglas Howe will provide a match of $100,000 – for a total of $200,000 in support!

The Empowering Postdoc Experience at ISB

Explore the journey of postdoctoral fellows at ISB as they evolve into independent researchers. At ISB, postdocs enter the scientific workforce with passion, vision, and advanced training – bringing the fresh ideas that fuel discovery.

“Postdocs are the pulse of ISB. The innovation that happens here is driven, in large part, by the ideas that postdocs bring when they work with professors at ISB. At graduate school, you learn how to do research. But going from that skillset to becoming an independent investigator, whether in academia or industry, is a rigorous journey. At ISB, postdocs learn not just how to do research, but how to establish their own research programs.”
