- Biography
Rod Hochman, M.D., is CEO Emeritus of Providence St. Joseph Health, a national, not-for-profit Catholic health system comprising a diverse family of organizations serving communities in Alaska, California, Montana, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas and Washington.
Dr. Hochman served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Providence St. Joseph Health 2013- 2024. He served as group president of Providence from 2012-2013 and president and CEO of Swedish Health Services from 2007-2012. His other experience includes serving in senior executive roles with Sentara Healthcare, the Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati and for Guthrie Health System.
Dr. Hochman is past board Chair of the American Hospital Association and the Catholic Health Association of the United States.
He also serves as a member of the board of directors for GE Healthcare, Inc., Board Chair of Truveta, and a senior healthcare advisor for Bain Capital Healthcare. He serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board at Boston University School of Medicine, and the University of Washington Foster School of Business Advisory Board.
Dr. Hochman received his bachelor’s and medical degrees from Boston University and was a clinical Fellow in internal medicine at Harvard Medical School and Dartmouth Medical School.
