- Biography
Jim Bradburne is the Director of Innovation at ISB, where he oversees intellectual property, legal functions, and business development. Jim is an experienced innovation leader who has worked with research institutions, businesses, and government organizations around the globe to develop and protect their ideas. Jim has helped guide a multitude of companies from product conception to launch and through periods of exponential growth.
Previously, Jim was a Principal at Clear Path IP, where he partnered with research and business leaders to grow their ideas into industry opportunities and sound investments, generating significant revenue from licensing, as well as private and IPO raises. Prior to that, Jim was Executive Vice President of Strategic Technology at Gryphon Therapeutics, where he championed development of the first-ever human clinical trial of a fully chemically synthesized therapeutic protein, a synthetic erythropoietin. Prior to Gryphon, Jim served as a patent prosecutor and technology adviser at renowned Silicon Valley law firms, including Cooley in Palo Alto, California.
Jim earned his PhD in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from Georgia Tech and a bachelor’s in biochemistry from Virginia Tech. He is a registered member of the U.S. Patent Bar, an inventor on multiple domestic and foreign patents, and an author on several peer-reviewed articles.
