Honoring Bruce Alberts, PhD
The Valerie Logan Leadership in Science Education Award
This year, we are thrilled to honor prominent biochemist and esteemed textbook author Bruce Alberts. Bruce has dedicated his career to improving global science education, tirelessly advocating for hands-on, inquiry-based learning.
His transformative work perfectly mirrors the vision of Valerie Logan Hood, a pioneer who established ISB’s commitment to ensuring all students can access quality STEM education. Join us in presenting Bruce with the 2026 Valerie Logan Leadership in Science Education Award, a fitting way to celebrate her profound legacy,
Connect. Explore. Celebrate.
Ignite STEM is a chance to meet the students, educators, and professionals who bring ISB Education to life. Throughout the evening, explore displays highlighting programs such as our high school internships, LEADS, and AmeriCorps, hear directly from participants about their experiences, and learn how these programs create opportunities for students and strengthen STEM education across our communities.
There’s no set path — grab a drink, explore what interests you, strike up a conversation, and enjoy the evening with others who believe in the power of STEM education.
