Theinmozhi Arulraj, PhD

K. Carole Ellison Fellow in Bioinformatics

Hood Lab

Theinmozhi Arulraj is a K. Carole Ellison Fellow in Bioinformatics in the Hood lab at the Institute for Systems Biology. She is working on leveraging systems biology approaches to understand the basis of longevity and scientific wellness.

She studied Integrated Master of Science in Systems Biology at University of Hyderabad, India, with her master’s thesis focusing on mathematical modeling of the PD-1 signaling pathway under the guidance of Dr. Debashis Barik. Subsequently, she joined the lab of Dr. Michael Meyer-Hermann at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research, Germany for her doctoral training. During her PhD, she worked on understanding the shutdown of germinal centers, which are transient structures in the lymphoid organs that control antibody responses to vaccination. Later, she did her postdoctoral training with Dr. Aleksander Popel at Johns Hopkins University, where she worked on developing quantitative systems pharmacology models to optimize cancer immunotherapy by virtual clinical trials.
