Unlike most of academia, ISB provides faculty the opportunity to focus specifically on research without classroom teaching requirements. At ISB, postdoctoral fellows can hone their skills on important, cutting-edge research projects in a cross-disciplinary, collaborative setting alongside dedicated faculty and staff. ISB postdocs have the opportunity to work in diverse areas including computational biology, molecular biology, bioinformatics, human immunology, host-pathogen interactions, immuno-oncology, cancer biology, and more.

ISB’s faculty is affiliated with many University of Washington (UW) academic departments, and we welcome graduate students to conduct their research projects at our South Lake Union headquarters.

ISB internships offer faculty mentoring of high school, undergraduate and graduate student interns throughout the year. In addition, ISB has well-established high school and undergraduate internship programs offered each summer. These internship positions are highly competitive and offer unparalleled experience in the emerging field of systems biology.
