Brett is a Senior Software Engineer in the Health Data Science Lab at ISB. For the past several years, Brett has worked in collaboration with a number of labs across ISB to facilitate large-scale, cloud-based analysis of multiomic research data. Examples include ISB’s COVID-19 studies, the Scientific Wellness study, and other multiomic studies of disease. Today, Brett primarily works on the NCATS Translator project with the Huang Lab. He also works in collaboration with Providence Genomics, where he is the lead backend engineer on a web platform built to provide cancer screening, pharmacogenetic testing, and access to clinical trials across Providence’s network of hospitals.
 
Before ISB, Brett worked as a software engineer at Arivale, a former spinout of ISB, as a member of the research team. Prior to Arivale, he worked at the US Department of Agriculture, Agriculture Research Service, where he studied the genomics of emerging pathogens of strawberries and sugar beets.
