Tim Hunt started out as an engineer in Silicon Valley but transitioned into IT after moving to Seattle 25 years ago. Starting as a systems administrator for software companies moving into technical lead, supervisor, manager positions eventually landing at Fred Hutch Cancer Research Center where he helped create the Center’s high performance compute and data management services and support.

He also worked at UW as the director of the School of Social Work’s IT department where he modernized their server environment, data management, multi-year strategic plans, and co-chaired UW-wide computing directors group. He also oversaw the proposal, strategy, design, project management, development, testing, and production of a web application used by over 3,000 field personnel, faculty, students, and staff to make the school more efficient.

Tim’s current focus at ISB is helping to update their storage, the server environment, phones, network, financial/HR/payroll system, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
