Dr. Jennifer Lovejoy has a Ph.D. in Physiological Psychology from Emory University and completed postdoctoral training in Endocrinology and Metabolism at Emory University School of Medicine, specializing in obesity and diabetes research. Dr. Lovejoy spent 12 years on the faculty of the Pennington Biomedical Research Center at LSU where she held the Manship Endowed Professorship in Diabetes and founded and directed the Women’s Nutrition Research Program. In 2003, Dr. Lovejoy became Dean of the School of Nutrition and Exercise Science at Bastyr University in Seattle, a private university offering graduate and undergraduate degrees in natural medicine. Subsequently, she became Senior VP of Clinical and Quality Support at Free and Clear, Inc, a company offering tobacco and weight management coaching services to employers and government agencies. She is a Past-President of the Obesity Society of North America and past Regional VP for the International Association for the Study of Obesity. She moved into precision medicine in 2015, becoming Chief Translational Science Officer at Arivale, a startup company affiliated with the Institute for Systems Biology that integrated multi-omic data with behavioral coaching. She is an affiliate faculty member in WSU’s Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine and is a sought-after speaker on behavioral science and precision approaches to chronic disease at national and international conferences.
