Spatial Multi-Omics for Cancer Systems Biology
ISB hosted a free one-day Spatial Multi-Omics for Cancer Systems Biology virtual workshop.
The event consisted of sessions on four topics: experimental methods, computational algorithms, applications of spatial multi-omics and a practical methods tutorial.
The workshop included the use of Jupyter notebooks and GitHub software to teach computational spatial multi-omics data analysis, and was intended for graduate students, postdocs, principal investigators, industry scientists, and educators.
The day-long event was recorded. You can watch the videos below.
Session 1: Experimental and Computational Methods I
ISB President and Professor Jim Heath, PhD, delivers opening remarks and kicks off session 1 of the one-day Spatial Multi-Omics for Cancer Systems Biology workshop.
Rong Fan, PhD, delivers a talk titled “Sequencing-based spatial multi-omics mapping.”
Ruben Dries, PhD, delivers a talk titled “The GIOTTO software tools.”
Lu Wei, PhD, delivers a talk titled “Spatial metabolic imaging.”
Jim Heath moderates a Q&A with the speakers from session 1.
Session 2: Experimental and Computational Methods II
ISB Principal Scientist Vésteinn Thorsson, PhD, kicks off session 2.
Robert Krueger, PhD, delivers a talk titled “Visual analytics for imaging-based spatial biology profiling technologies.”
Joseph Beechem, PhD, delivers a talk titled “Spatial molecular imaging of FFPE cancer samples at any spatial-plex allows true systems biology understanding.”
Lyla Atta delivers a talk titled “Evaluating normalization approaches for imaging-based spatial profiling technologies.”
Vésteinn Thorsson moderates a Q&A with the speakers of session 2.
Session 3: Applications and Spatial Multi-Omics
Wei Wei, PhD, kicks off session 3 with “Introduction to applications of spatial multi-omics.”
Katie Campbell, PhD, delivers a talk titled “CD8 T-Cell dynamics in biopsies from patients with melanoma treated with combination immune checkpoint inhibitors.”
Sandro Santagata, MD, PhD, delivers a talk titled “Multiplexed tissue imaging opportunities and challenges.”
Wei Wei moderates a Q&A with the speakers of session 3.
Session 4: Practical Methods in Spatial Omics
Rong Fan and members of his group from Yale University (Shuozhen Bao, Alev Baysoy, Zhiliang Bai) lead a practical tutorial with Jupyter notebooks and GitHub software, to teach “hands-on” experimental methods and computational tools for spatial omics and data analysis.
